I suspect the creepiness is because the legs are modeled after animal legs (horse, dog, etc), but the front legs are backwards (this is why the jump at the end looked so ungainly). Part of it also might be related to the Uncanny Valley: its balance and grace is much better than what is expected of a robot, but it’s worse than that of an animal, so it looks like a really creepy animal.
Wow… very cool. Yet, something about the body is creepy. But, it’s coolness outweighs the creepy factor.
